The Honourable William Charles Gillespie AJ
William Charles Gillespie served as an acting Judge of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in 1960.
William Gillespie was born in Yongala, Adelaide on 12 August 1904 and was educated at the Adelaide High School and University of Adelaide.
He was a solicitor with the Crown Law Department from 1928 to 1940 and was Chairman of the Companies Auditors Board from 1935 to 1968. He was also Chairman of the Army and Naval Compensation Boards from 1940 to 1946 and Chairman of the Commonwealth Railways Officers Appeals Board from 1940 to 1948. He was also Chairman of the Primary Producers Assistance Committee from 1953 to 1968.
Justice Gillespie was the Commissioner on the Apple Industry in Western Australia from 1961 to 1962.
Justice Gillespie was a Special Magistrate of the Local Court of Adelaide from 1940 to 1958 and the Judge of the Local Court of Adelaide from 1958 to 1968.
